Prescription home delivery for practices on Greenway Health

Greenway's EHRs are used in primary care and specialty practices, many of which see the first visit after a minor work injury or a car accident and then manage the prescriptions that follow. The Prescriptions.plus Home Delivery Program gives those patients another route: your prescribers choose our licensed partner pharmacy in e-prescribing, and medication is delivered to the patient's door. Greenway Health is a product name of its owner, used here only to describe your system; no endorsement or affiliation is implied.

Our training team helps practices add our partner pharmacy in Greenway Health's e-prescribing. Prescriptions.plus is not affiliated with or endorsed by Greenway Health.

Adding our partner pharmacy in Greenway Health

Greenway offers more than one EHR, and practices configure them differently. The shared foundation is e-prescribing: each prescription goes to a pharmacy chosen from an electronic pharmacy directory, where home-delivery pharmacies are listed alongside retail stores.

Generally, adding the partner pharmacy means locating it in that directory and saving it so prescribers can select it easily. Practices that keep a short list of commonly used pharmacies often add it there.

Our training team helps practices add our partner pharmacy in Greenway's e-prescribing and walks the practice through it on the Greenway product you actually use.

If a patient's record already has a local pharmacy saved, nothing is lost by adding the partner pharmacy. The prescriber simply chooses whichever one the patient wants for that prescription, and the training team can show you how that generally works in your setup.

What our training team does

A full training department helps install it so it doesn't impact your workflow. They begin by confirming your Greenway product, your locations and your prescribers, then walk the right people through saving and selecting the partner pharmacy.

In primary care, the people who most often touch pharmacy choices are MAs and nurses; in specialty practices, it may be a surgical coordinator or scribe. The team includes whoever actually does the work.

They also suggest simple wording for staff to use when offering delivery, so patients hear a consistent explanation.

For practices with more than one location, the team can work with a lead at each site, so the option is introduced the same way everywhere.

  • Confirm your Greenway product and setup
  • Train the staff who handle pharmacy choices
  • Suggest consistent patient-facing wording
  • Support as new staff join

What stays the same in your workflow

Prescribing steps don't change. The partner pharmacy is one more choice when your clinicians reach the pharmacy selection.

Your documentation, scheduling and billing are untouched. The prescriber decides what to prescribe and where to send it, and the prescribing doctor decides refills. Patients who prefer a familiar local pharmacy keep using it.

  • Same prescribing routine
  • No change to scheduling or billing
  • Delivery is optional
  • Medication is dispensed by our licensed partner pharmacy

Before your setup call

Confirm which Greenway product you use and invite the person who manages your settings, plus a clinician and an MA or nurse.

To enrol, fill out one form and we send the agreements. Have practice details, each prescriber's licence and DEA numbers with copies, and a W-9 ready.

We connect to most major EMR and e-prescribing systems. If some providers prescribe through another tool, list it.

Patients and refills

Prescriptions sent to our partner pharmacy are delivered to the patient's door. A $5 dispensing fee applies, and a delivery fee applies. The patient's adjuster or insurer can tell them whether their claim covers the medication.

The prescribing doctor decides refills, through the same refill process you use today. Some medications, such as Schedule II controlled substances, may not be available by mail — your partner pharmacy will advise.

Primary care teams often know when a patient has no transport or lives alone. Those are the patients for whom offering delivery at checkout makes the clearest difference.

Does it matter which Greenway product we use?

The general process is similar, but setup is tailored. Tell the training team your product and they'll guide you through it.

Do clinicians need to change how they prescribe?

No. They prescribe as usual and choose the partner pharmacy when a patient wants delivery.

What do we need to join?

Practice details, each prescriber's licence and DEA numbers with copies, and a W-9. Fill out one form and we send the agreements.
