How it works

Four steps, and only the first one is yours.

  1. 1

    Fill out the form

One online form with your practice details, providers' licence and DEA numbers, the EMR you use and a W-9. Your progress is saved as you go.

  2. 2

    We send the agreements

Our team reviews your form and sends the agreements to the person you name as the signer. Questions about the details are answered before anything is signed.

  3. 3

We install it in your EMR

A full training department helps add our licensed partner pharmacy to your EMR or e-prescribing system, and walks your team through it so it doesn't impact your workflow.

  4. 4

    Prescribe as usual

Choose the partner pharmacy the way you'd choose any other. The medication is dispensed by our licensed partner pharmacy and delivered to the patient's door.

  • Refills follow your instructions — the prescribing doctor decides refills.

Practices that treat injured workers

Orthopedic practices

Orthopedic surgeons and their teams see injured workers before and after surgery, often prescribing short courses of medication while patients are least able to get to a pharmacy.

Pain management practices

Pain management practices manage ongoing prescriptions for injured workers and auto-injury patients, where consistent access to medication between visits matters.

Occupational medicine clinics

Occupational medicine clinics are often the first stop after a workplace injury, writing first prescriptions while the claim is still being set up.

Urgent care centers

Urgent care centers treat sprains, strains, lacerations and other work injuries every day, often outside regular pharmacy hours.

Chiropractic practices

Chiropractic practices that work alongside prescribing physicians, or that employ medical providers, can make home delivery available for the prescriptions those providers write.

Physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R)

Physiatrists coordinate recovery for injured workers across therapy, bracing and medication, and their patients are often limited in how far they can travel.

Spine practices

Spine surgeons and non-surgical spine specialists manage back and neck injuries where sitting in a car or standing in a pharmacy line can be hard for patients.

Podiatry & foot and ankle practices

Foot and ankle specialists treat fractures, sprains and post-surgical patients who are often in a boot, on crutches or told to stay off their feet.

Hand & upper extremity surgery

Hand surgeons treat crush injuries, lacerations, tendon repairs and carpal tunnel cases, where patients may have one usable hand and limited ability to drive.

Neurology & concussion care

Neurologists see injured workers after head injuries and nerve injuries, where patients may be told not to drive.

Primary care practices

Primary care practices often treat the first visit of a minor work injury or an auto accident, and manage the medications that follow.

Sports medicine practices

Sports medicine physicians treat the same strains, sprains and overuse injuries that happen on the job, and many already see workers' comp patients.

Physical therapy practices that refer

Physical therapists don't prescribe medication, but they see injured workers more often than anyone and frequently coordinate with the physicians who do.

Workers' comp clinics

Clinics built around workers' compensation care manage high volumes of injured-worker prescriptions and the paperwork that goes with them.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Prescriptions.plus Home Delivery Program?

The Prescriptions.plus Home Delivery Program lets prescribers send prescriptions to our licensed partner pharmacy, which dispenses the medication and delivers it to the patient's door. Prescriptions.plus is an educational portal and is not itself a pharmacy.

Will this change how our practice prescribes?

It shouldn't. After setup, our partner pharmacy is available in your e-prescribing system like any other pharmacy. A full training department helps install it and shows your team how to select it, so it doesn't impact your workflow.

Which EMR and e-prescribing systems do you work with?

We connect to most major EMR and e-prescribing systems. Tell us which system you use on the form, and our training team will confirm the setup steps with you before your installation.

What fees apply?

A $5 dispensing fee applies, and a delivery fee applies. Your agreements set out the details, and our team will walk you through them before you sign.

Who decides refills?

The prescribing doctor decides refills, exactly as with any other pharmacy.

Can every medication be delivered?

Some medications, such as Schedule II controlled substances, may not be available by mail — your partner pharmacy will advise.

What do we need to have ready?

Your practice name, phone, fax, email and locations; a practice contact; payment information including your Tax ID (EIN); each provider's state licence and DEA numbers with expiration dates and copies of the certificates; a W-9; the EMR or e-prescribing system you use; and the email of the person who will sign the agreements.

What happens after we submit the form?

Our team reaches out to send the agreements and schedule your EMR setup. Once the agreements are signed and the partner pharmacy is added to your system, your prescribers can start sending prescriptions for home delivery.
